I am Virginia Chormoviti and I was born in Greece. I studied the Italian Language and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Spanish Literature and Civilization at the Department of Translation and Interpretation of the Ionian University. I attended courses of the Italian Language (Superiore B) and Legal Terminology at Universitá per Stranieri in Siena (Italy). I stayed in Salerno (Italy) for a year on a scholarship in Linguistics. As a student I won five grants for my performance on the object of my studies. I have attended Seminars on Literary Translation in Malaga, Spain and on the Italian Language in Athens, Greece. I completed my Master’s Degree in Literary & Humanities Translated texts in Malaga, Spain.
I have taught the Italian Language and Spanish Literature at several Universities in Greece. At a Scientific Conference held in Corfu in November 2012, I presented the Greek poet and photographer Andreas Empirikos. I collaborate with the international art magazine Levurelitteraire and with the literary Magazines Porfyras, Poema, Koukoutsi, anthropino, Vakxikon that publish my translations of poetry, essays, short stories, tales and plays from Spanish or Italian to Greek.
I am a self-taught photographer and I have twelve international photography awards under my belt, among which the Gold Medal in the Hellenic photography competition in 2011 with the title Mater Natura. Until today I did personal and group exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus, England, Portugal and Spain.
